About the Position

Cowra Council is seeking highly motivated and a suitably qualified and experienced applicants to fill two Plant Operator roles within the Roads division of Council.

The position of Plant Operator is primarily responsible for the safe driving and operation of Council's plant items in an effective and efficient manner within the guidelines of the Motor Traffic Act, Work Health and Safety Act and Council policies and standards.  The position is responsible for contributing to the delivery of the Roads Works Program and allocated projects within time and budget constraints.

The successful applicants must have relevant experience in civil construction or maintenance.  The successful applicant for Roads Construction Plant Operator position must have a Heavy Rigid (HR) licence.  Applicants with experience or competencies/tickets in the following plant would be an advantage, and bring more options to our team: Front End Loader, Backhoe, Skid Steer, Excavator, Roller & Grader. Applicants must be physically fit and understand the importance of WHS and EEO. A ‘can do’ work ethic and ability to work positively within a team are essential.
