About the Opportunity
Cowra Council is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Grounds Maintenance Attendants to join our Parks & Gardens Section. These roles play a key part in maintaining Council’s town and village parks, gardens and open spaces to a high standard, ensuring these areas remain safe, attractive and welcoming for the community.The positions involve working across multiple small teams and contributing to a range of activities within horticulture, greenkeeping, grounds maintenance and arboriculture. Duties are varied and predominantly hands-on, including but not limited to:
- Mowing and edging (whipper snipping)
- Spraying and weed control
- Watering, mulching and fertilising
- Pruning and planting
- Waste collection and disposal
- Operation of plant, tools and equipment associated with grounds maintenance
Applicants should have demonstrated experience in grounds maintenance or a similar field, with the ability to safely operate relevant plant and machinery such as mowers and chainsaws. A current Class C Driver Licence is essential. Candidates holding an MR licence, chainsaw certification and chemical application tickets will be highly regarded.
To be successful in these roles, you will be able to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrate a strong work ethic and pride in delivering a high standard of work and possess good organisational and customer service skills when working in public spaces.
