Position Status: Permanent, Full Time
Hours of Work: 7am to 4pm (during summer 6:30am to 3:30pm), 38hour week with an RDO each fortnight

About the Opportunity
An excellent opportunity is available for a proactive, enthusiastic individual with strong leadership capabilities to take on a pivotal supervisory role within Council`s road construction division. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high level self-management skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing deadlines and operate effectively in a busy evolving environment. Proven experience in road construction practices is essential, along with the ability to lead, coach and oversea teams delivering a wide range of civil works. The role involves planning, coordinating and allocating labour, plant and materials to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
Projects and duties may include drainage extensions, replacements and upgrades (including box culverts and pipes), watermain replacements, heavy patching of state, regional and local roads, kerb and gutter construction, footpath construction and repairs, gravel road resheeting, and the management of Council quarries and associated operations. Participation in the after hours on call roster is required for this role. Strong communication skills, a positive mindset and the ability to build effective working relationships are essential for success in this role.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Construction
- Minimum HR Licence
- Experience in a Supervisory or Manager role
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of Work Health & Safety requirements
- Ability to lead, coordinate, mentor crews, allocate tasks, manage performance and maintain a positive, productive team environment
- Strong computer literacy skills
