Position Status: Permanent, Full Time
Hours of Work: 7am to 4pm (during summer 6:30am to 3:30pm), 38hour week with an RDO each fortnight

About the Opportunity
Cowra Shire Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Supervisor – Plant & Workshop to lead the delivery of high-quality plant and workshop services within our Infrastructure and Operations team. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation, maintenance and lifecycle management of Council’s diverse fleet, plant and equipment. You will oversee day-to-day workshop operations, including scheduling, resource allocation and staff supervision, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, safety standards and Council policies.
This is a dynamic and hands-on leadership position, where you will drive continuous improvement across workshop systems and processes, monitor fleet performance and utilisation, and contribute to long-term asset planning and budgeting. You will also provide specialist advice to support operational decision-making and work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver reliable and responsive services.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicles and plant operations, along with demonstrated leadership experience and a proactive approach to safety, compliance and service delivery.
